Banns of Marriage
Most Church of England marriages will require banns to be published before the wedding can take place. You won’t need to arrange banns until about four months before your wedding date.
At Holy Nativity, Knowle we will usually publish your banns of marriage during our 10.00 am Parish Mass on three consecutive Sunday's before the date of your wedding.
We will let you know when they will be published and ask that you try to attend at least once so that you can hear your banns being read.
To apply for your Banns of marriage to be read at Holy Nativity, please download the form held in the downloads tab.Fill out the form together with a cheque for £40 made out to 'Holy Nativity PCC.' You'll find the postal address to send these to printed on the application form. Once your banns have been successfully read, we will issue you with a banns of marriage certificate which you should show to the priest who will be officiating at your wedding.
